NHAI to undertake flyover construction on Jaipur-Kishangarh route

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) will develop 10 flyovers to unclog and provide protected passage between the Jaipur-Kishangarh stretch.

NHAI has decided to build flyovers on the route comprising Heerapura, Bhankrota, Mahlan, Narsinghpura, Mokhanpura and Padasoli as these points are known as black spots.

Apart from this, the NHAI will build flyovers at Dhami Balaji, Gadota, Bandarsindri and Savarda to decongest the traffic on the stretch.

NHAI told the media that the authority would pay about Rs 220 crore to build 10 flyovers between the Jaipur-Kishangarh stretch. Tenders have been invited and work is likely to start in November. While six flyovers will be built for black spots rectification, four will be built to provide smooth passage.

On Tuesday, the Minister of Road Transport and Highway, Nitin Gadkari informed that the centre had passed a budget of Rs 619.48 crore for the development of underpasses, flyovers and bridges on the entire 6-lane Gurgaon-Beawar national highway stretch.

Many citizens living in the catchment regions of Ajmer road will breathe a sigh of relief as demand to build flyovers on many points was long pending.

As the city has extended till Mahlan, the project would likely resolve the perennial traffic problem at several junctions on the road. The lack of a flyover on these points leaves the traffic in knots.

An official at the Jaipur Development Authority told the media that the project is long pending and would solve traffic issues once built. In traffic control board (TCB) meetings, the department has strongly asked the JDA to form a flyover at Mahapura and Bhankrota crossroads many times.

Frequent accidents and snarls, in the past near Mahapura, Heerapura, Bhankrota had raised concerns of the traffic department.

A senior engineer told the media that the JDA periphery ends at the C-zone bypass. The issue over the years increased due to faulty planning of NHAI. Ultimately, the authority’s decision to build a flyover over these stretches will help the residents of Jaipur since it passes through urban areas.
