The Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority has proposed separating freight and passenger movement in Greater Noida and constructing a 105 metre wide road up to the Hapur bypass to improve connectivity with the Ganga Expressway. The proposal was presented at a meeting chaired by the Industrial Development Minister Nand Gopal Gupta in Lucknow and attended by the Additional Chief Secretary, Industrial Development Alok Kumar. Officials said the plan aims to streamline traffic and enhance logistical links in the region. GNIDA officials stated that the road would reduce the distance and travel time between Noida Greater Noida and the Ganga Expressway to about 30 to 45 minutes and that extending the connectivity by around 15 km would link Greater Noida with the Ganga Expressway. The authority also proposed a six lane elevated road from the Multi Modal Logistics Hub to the Noida International Airport in Jewar to facilitate direct movement of goods. The proposed elevated route would run parallel to the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor and be intended specifically for freight movement. Officials explained that connecting the logistics hub directly to the airport would allow goods from the logistics hub to be transported straight to the air cargo terminal, reducing transhipment times and easing surface congestion. The Multi Modal Logistics Hub and the Multi Modal Transport Hub are among the major upcoming projects in Greater Noida that are expected to facilitate freight movement and improve traffic flow between the logistics hub and the airport. The proposals form part of a plan to amend the Greater Noida Master Plan 2041 to separate freight and passenger movement. Authorities said the amendments to the master plan would provide policy clarity for infrastructure investment and enable coordinated development of freight corridors and passenger roads. Officials indicated that the measures are intended to support economic activity and improve efficiency for businesses that rely on air and road logistics in the National Capital Region. The proposals were outlined in a statement from the minister’s office following the meeting.
