Aerocity Metro Station: Longest Platform on Delhi's Silver Line

In Phase 4 of the metro development plan, the Tughlakabad-Aerocity Silver line will feature the Aerocity metro station, which will boast the longest platform among all the silver line stations. This design decision takes into consideration the heavy passenger traffic expected at the station, as it will serve as a triple interchange facility, connecting the Airport Express line, the Delhi-Alwar Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS), and the new Silver line.

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has stated that while the other underground stations on the Silver line will measure up to 225 meters in length, the platform at Aerocity station will span 289 meters. The station will be constructed 23 meters below ground level to facilitate seamless connectivity between the three lines, offering a comprehensive transit network linking Faridabad, South Delhi, West Delhi, and the Indira Gandhi International Airport.

Currently under construction, the Aerocity station will feature three entry/exit points. One entrance will provide access to the bustling business hub of Aerocity, while the other two will connect NH-8 and Mahipalpur to the station, enhancing accessibility for commuters in those areas.

According to Anuj Dayal, the Principal Executive Director of Corporate Communications at DMRC, the Tughlakabad-Aerocity line aims to meet the growing demand for connectivity and transportation from the Mehrauli-Badarpur, Chhatarpur Extension, and Mahipalpur regions. The development of this line will significantly improve transportation options for residents and travellers in these areas.
