DMRC expands WhatsApp Ticketing System across all lines

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) announced that its WhatsApp-based ticketing system would be expanded to all lines, including the Gurugram Rapid Metro service. In an official statement, DMRC stated that they had extended their innovative WhatsApp-based ticketing system to cover all lines in the Delhi National Capital Region (NCR), including Gurugram Rapid Metro, in collaboration with Meta and their authorised partner Pelocal Fintech. This expansion followed the successful launch of the system on the Airport Express Line in June.

According to the DMRC, the user-friendly WhatsApp chatbot, available in both English and Hindi, caters to a wide range of metro riders. With the introduction of this WhatsApp-based ticketing system, metro travellers can now conveniently purchase tickets with just a single click, from the comfort of their homes or workplaces. Passengers need to send a message with the text 'Hi' to +919650855800 on WhatsApp. The official chatbot will then assist the user in purchasing the metro ticket by entering the place of departure and place of arrival.

"The service has now expanded its reach across 12 metro lines and includes 288 metro stations, including the Gurugram Rapid Metro line," said DMRC. They further mentioned that the expansion aimed to provide passengers with a seamless ticketing experience and enhance overall convenience for metro travellers.
