MapmyIndia Mappls Integrates Mumbai Metro Line 3 Data into App

Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRCL) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with MapmyIndia Mappls to integrate Mumbai Metro Line 3, also known as the Aqua Line, into the Mappls App. The partnership will provide users with metro routes, station information, fares, train frequencies and end-to-end journey planning.

The companies said official Mumbai Metro information would become available to more than 45 mn Mappls App users. Commuters will be able to plan journeys across the Aqua Line network and access key travel details through a single digital platform.

The integration will combine MMRCL’s metro data with MapmyIndia Mappls’ mapping and location technology. Information planned for the app includes geotagged station locations, station facilities, parking availability for cars and two-wheelers, metro line colours, interchange details, train frequencies and fare prices.

The platform will also provide information on the number of stations and lines. This is intended to give commuters a broader view of the network while helping them identify routes and make connections during their journeys.

R. Ramana, director of planning and real estate and NFBR at MMRCL, said the integration would improve access to metro information and support journey planning through the Mappls App. Rohan Verma, joint managing director of MapmyIndia Mappls, said the rollout would begin with Mumbai Metro Line 3 and allow users to plan journeys using the app’s integrated travel information.

The agreement expands the public transport information available through Mappls, with the Aqua Line serving as the starting point for the collaboration. The companies are combining official operational data and navigation tools to make Mumbai’s metro information easier for commuters to access while planning travel across the city.
