Prime Minister Narendra Modi has officially inaugurated India’s first 16-coach Namo Bharat Rapid Rail service today, running between Jayanagar and Patna. This upgraded service, now with 16 coaches compared to the 12-coach version launched between Ahmedabad and Bhuj in September 2024, aims to revolutionize connectivity in Bihar.The rapid rail will pass through key stations, including Madhubani, Sakri, Darbhanga, Samastipur, Barauni, and Mokama, and can carry 2,000 passengers, significantly reducing travel time by half with a maximum speed of 110 km/h.Equipped with modern features such as fully air-conditioned cabins, charging sockets, modular interiors, and ejector-based vacuum toilets, the service promises comfort and convenience. The train also includes advanced safety systems like ‘Kavach’, CCTV, and an emergency talk-back system.This new rail service will benefit the region by enhancing access to jobs, education, and business opportunities, while also providing improved safety and ease of travel for the people of North Bihar.
