The Navi Mumbai International Airport is expected to open in December 2024 following numerous obstacles that were encountered throughout the project's lifespan. The greenfield project is being built across an area of around 1,160 hectare. The estimated cost of the project is Rs 167 billion, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi having laid the foundation stone of the project back in February 2018. The airport is being built in a public-private partnership model, utilising the DBFOT Model to implement the project in four phases by 2032.
