Indian Army Rolls Out First Overhauled ARV VT-72B with JCBL Group Partnership

The Indian Army has commissioned its first overhauled Armoured Recovery Vehicle (ARV) VT-72B from the 512 Army Base Workshop, Pune, with Airbornics Defence & Space (ADSL), a subsidiary of JCBL Group, as the sole industry partner. The project underscores successful industry–defence collaboration and advanced engineering support for India’s armed forces.

On September 17, 2025, the Indian Army flagged off its first overhauled ARV VT-72B, marking a significant milestone in defence modernisation. ADSL was responsible for overhauling the Utility Portion of the vehicle, including dismantling, replacing critical components, and repairing or substituting Major Unit Assemblies (MUAs). The company’s engineering team worked closely with Army personnel at 512 ABW to ensure precision, quality, and operational readiness at every stage.

Lt Gen Amardeep Singh Aujla, Master General Sustenance, lauded the Corps of EME for their exemplary work and acknowledged the contribution of JCBL Group and ADSL as the Army’s industry partner in the project.

Rishi Aggarwal, Managing Director, JCBL Group, said, “We are honoured to partner with the Indian Army for the overhaul of the VT-72B. This collaboration reflects our commitment to supporting India’s defence readiness with world-class engineering expertise and infrastructure.”

The ceremonial flag-off was attended by senior Indian Army leaders, including MGEME Southern Command, Lt Gen JS Sidana, Director General of the Corps of Electronics and Mechanical Engineers, Maj Gen Lalit Kapoor, Maj Gen PS Bindra, Commander Base Workshop Group, along with Sanjeev Babbar, Director, JCBL Group, and Col. Rajwinder Singh (Retd), COO, JCBL Group (ADSL).
