NIBE to Open Defence Complex in Shirdi

NIBE Group will inaugurate its Shirdi Defence Manufacturing Complex on 23 and 24 May 2026, marking a major step in India’s private-sector defence manufacturing journey. The two-day event will bring together students, aspiring engineers, young innovators, government leaders, defence officials, industry experts, MSMEs, investors and media representatives.

The inauguration will be attended by Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh, Maharashtra Chief Minister Shri Devendra Fadnavis, Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan and Maharashtra Minister Dr Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil. Located in Shirdi, Ahilya Nagar district, the complex is designed to support advanced manufacturing across critical defence and aerospace segments.

A key highlight of the event will be a Defence Capability Display and MSME Showcase, where NIBE Group and partner MSMEs will present indigenous technologies, innovative products and manufacturing solutions. The exhibition will highlight the role of Indian MSMEs in strengthening the defence supply chain and supporting self-reliance.

NIBE Group will also inaugurate its Bio-CNG Gas Plant, reflecting its focus on sustainable industrial development and clean energy. The Shirdi project is expected to generate opportunities for local industries and youth while strengthening Maharashtra’s position as a centre for advanced manufacturing.

Ganesh Nibe, Chairman and Managing Director, NIBE Group, said the inauguration is an invitation for students, young engineers and aspiring entrepreneurs to witness India’s defence and technological capabilities and contribute to building a self-reliant India.
