Greater Noida Authority to float tenders for three smart villages

The Greater Noida Authority will be floating tenders for the development of three more smart villages.

As per the officials, 14 villages in Greater Noida will be converted into ‘smart’ ones according to the GNIDA scheme. The customs of the tender for the implementation of the scheme will be concluded by next month, the officials added.

CEO of GNIDA, Narendra Bhooshan, told the media there are 124 villages in the Greater Noida area. They are conducting the development process at a fast pace. In the first phase, 14 villages will get modified. Bids for other villages have already been invited. From dedicated water supply to sewer lines and Wi-Fi systems, many features will be included under the scheme.

The agreements have been declared for Tilpata, Sadullapur and Aminabad. The cost of improving the three villages will be about Rs 10 crore, while the total estimated expenditure for the 14 villages is around Rs 150 crore, officials informed.

The expansion programme itself will be conducted in two phases. In the first phase, projects concentrating on infrastructure will be implemented. The selected agency will work on rendering fixed water supply to houses apart from laying robust sewer lines, which will be connected to the authority’s main sewage treatment facility. The roads will also be repaired, and more street lights will be set up in the given area.

In the second phase, a library has been approved for every village, and Wi-Fi will be rendered to the residents. Training centres for youngsters will be launched in each village where career-oriented skill sets will be taught as per the government’s mandate. Apart from these, sports grounds will be developed, and solar panels and street furniture will be rendered to the villages.
