PM Modi to Inaugurate Key Power and Metro Projects in Kanpur on 24 April

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Kanpur on 24 April to inaugurate a series of major projects designed to enhance the region’s power infrastructure and urban mobility.

The visit will feature the launch of the Panki Power Plant, the Neyveli Power Ghatampur project, and the second phase of the city’s Metro system.

The Panki Power Plant, a state-of-the-art thermal facility, is expected to significantly boost local electricity generation. Similarly, the Neyveli Power Ghatampur project will address the growing energy needs of Uttar Pradesh.

The second phase of the Kanpur Metro expansion is anticipated to greatly improve public transportation and urban connectivity across the city. According to reports, the Prime Minister may also inaugurate the Bilhaur solar power plant during the visit.

A large public gathering is planned at the Railway Ground in Nirala Nagar, with thousands expected to attend the event.

Extensive preparations are underway, with district authorities collaborating closely with the Special Protection Group (SPG) to ensure comprehensive security for the high-profile visit.

Multiple entry and exit points will be set up, alongside drinking water stations and emergency medical services. Local police have conducted intensive security drills, and a detailed traffic management plan is being developed to address potential congestion.

BJP workers have launched grassroots mobilisation efforts, canvassing door-to-door to raise awareness about the Prime Minister’s visit and the upcoming projects.

To ensure the smooth operation of the event, the district administration has formed various committees dedicated to crowd control, parking management, and emergency response.
