AVG Logistics secures Rs 1.5 bn contract for Parcel Cargo Express Train

AVG Logistics announced that it secured a contract valued at Rs 1.5 billion for leasing a Parcel Cargo Express Train from Indian Railways. This specialised train, linking Bengaluru to Ludhiana in Punjab, is scheduled to complete one round trip every week for the next six years.

Sanjay Gupta, Managing Director and CEO of AVG Logistics, expressed confidence that the revenue generated from this Rs 1.5 billion contract would not only enhance the company's financial standing but also inspire them to embark on more ambitious projects, further elevating their overall performance. The details were disclosed in a filing with the stock exchange.

The cargo express train is designed to cover the entire distance in 72 hours. AVG Logistics highlighted the strategic significance of Ludhiana in expanding its railway network, providing access to key markets such as textiles and cycle manufacturing.

AVG Logistics specialises in various transportation services, including road and rail, reefers, cold chain, and warehousing. The company boasts a network of over 50 fully automated branches across the country.
