Godrej & Boyce plans to develop digitally operated warehouses

Godrej & Boyce is planning to develop efficient warehouses by digitally allowing operations, a top authority of the firm told the media.

The move will improve the efficiency, decrease the operation cost and delivery time, A M Visvanathan, Executive Vice President - Special Projects, Godrej & Boyce, told the media while elaborating on how he sees the firm's logistics vertical after a decade from now.

Godrej & Boyce is big as a conglomerate, as a business house and with an exceptionally wide portfolio, consumer-facing businesses, industrial products and now a gigantic vertical which is concentrated on logistics.

Concerning section logistics or intralogistics, there are a lot of plans, he told the media.

Godrej has got many projects. It's been working on it for a while, and it has a lot of plans.

Additionally, he said that he thinks 10 years down the line, India will possibly be one of the biggest logistics markets in the world because there are particularly large economies like China and the US, which will additionally be increasing. The firm will be number one in developing efficient warehouses.
