India’s Largest Multi Modal Cargo Terminal Opens at Manesar

India’s largest multi-modal cargo terminal under the Gati Shakti initiative has been unveiled in Manesar, Haryana. This state-of-the-art facility integrates rail and road logistics to streamline freight movement and significantly reduce transportation hassles for businesses across the region.

The terminal features expansive storage yards, modern handling equipment for containers, and seamless connectivity to major highways and rail lines. It is designed to cater to a wide range of commodities—from bulk goods to manufactured products—supporting both road and rail operators through centralised transfer facilities.

By combining rail and road capabilities, the terminal aims to enhance the efficiency, speed, and cost-effectiveness of freight transport. This boost in logistics infrastructure is particularly significant for the densely industrialised Manesar region, as well as businesses along the Delhi–Mumbai freight corridor.

The Gati Shakti terminal represents a major milestone in India’s effort to develop world-class logistics ecosystems under the National Master Plan. With a focus on technology-driven operations and coordinated transport modes, the facility is expected to play a key role in driving economic growth, export competitiveness, and the country’s broader ‘Make in India’ vision.
