Karnataka Approves Sewage Treatment Project for 110 BBMP Villages

The Karnataka state cabinet approved several infrastructure projects, including a sewage treatment plant initiative under the Karnataka Water Security and Disaster Resilience Programme, funded by the World Bank. This Rs 13.23 billion project will provide sustainable sewage treatment solutions for 110 villages incorporated into the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) over the past 20 years.

The government also approved a Rs 4.75 billion proposal for treating leachate in landfills. Additionally, plans to construct a grand statue of Dr. BR Ambedkar in Tumakuru, along with several other healthcare and infrastructure projects, were cleared. These initiatives are part of the government's efforts to boost public health, infrastructure, and governance across Karnataka.
