Kerala to develop Rs 4,500 cr port project

The Kerala Government has decided to execute the Rs 4,500 crore project of the Azhicode Port in Kannur district. The state has made plans to go for a joint venture as the port needs dredging to facilitate big ships to berth. Land acquisition process for the project is under way. A sum of Rs 5 crore has been set aside for road connectivity. The project on completion, is likely to boost the economic and trade activities in the northern region of the state.
