Tamil Nadu Government promotes clean energy

The Government of Tamil Nadu has mandated for replacing coal fuel usage with renewable energy, to promote clean energy. In addition, the Tamil Nadu Electricity Regulatory Commission has imposed obligations to purchase renewable energy to focus on renewable energy usage in industry.

At present, the state of Tamil Nadu has wind energy capacity of 5,400 MW, in addition to a potential capacity of 5,530 MW.
