Seven new rail line projects sanctioned for Maharashtra

The Centre, in its Budget 2017-2018, has sanctioned seven new railway lines in Maharashtra. The four big ticket projects are: Fast Elevated Corridor between CST to Panvel (with initial cost of Rs 14,525 crore), Vasai-Virar-Panvel Corridor (with initial cost of Rs 8,787 crore), and third and fourth suburban lines between Pune and Lonavala (with initial cost of Rs 4,253 crore) and Bandra-Virar Elevated Rail Corridor (Phase-I) (with initial cost of Rs 762 crore).
