CCI clears acquisition of assets of Jaiprakash Associates

Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Ltd. was given permission by the Indian Competition Commission on Wednesday to purchase a number of assets from Jaiprakash Associates Ltd. and its affiliate.

According to a formal announcement, the proposed combination relates to Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Ltd purchasing the clinker, cement, and power plants from Jaiprakash Associates Ltd and its affiliate.

A fully owned subsidiary of Dalmia Bharat Ltd. is Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Ltd. (DBL). Cement, sugar, and refractory services are among the products and services that DBL manufactures and sells. The Dalmia Bharat Group is ultimately headed by DBL.

The assets operate in the states of Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh, producing and selling clinker, grey cement, and thermal energy.

Transactions above a specific amount require CCI's approval, which monitors unethical business activities and encourages fair competition in the market.
