These include Dahegaon Makardhokra IV, Saradhapur Jalatap East, Banai and Bhalumunda, Sahapur East, Seregarha, and Vijay Central. This brings the total number of coal blocks allotted under commercial auctions to 116, with cumulative peak capacity of about 261.304 million tonnes per annum. These are expected to generate Rs 370 billion in annual revenue and create jobs for nearly 350 thousand people.

For the first time, Western Coalfields Limited, a subsidiary of Coal India Limited, has secured a block through commercial auction—marking a step towards equitable access for all stakeholders.
