Adani Total Gas Ltd wins 14 licenses to retail CNG

Adani Total Gas Limited (ATGL), a joint venture of Gautam Adani's gas unit, won 14 licenses to retail Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) to automobiles and piped cooking gas to households in the most recent city gas bidding round.

Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB) revealed the results, where ATGL prevailed city gas rights in 14 geographical areas (GAs) out of 52.

Megha Engineering and Infrastructure (MEIL), a large infrastructure company based in Hyderabad, won 13 GAs, whereas Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) won eight GAs.

In the 11th city gas distribution (CGD) licensing round, 65 GAs were presented for bidding. Out of this, bids for 61 GAs came in and results for only 52 GAs were declared.

The rest of the 9 GAs results have been kept back because the model code of conduct is in place in Uttrakhand and Uttar Pradesh for assembly elections.

ATGL is developing City Gas Distribution (CGD) networks to deliver the Piped Natural Gas (PNG) to the Household, Commercial, Industrial, and CNG to the transport sector.
