GAIL and Alpha Gas Sign Long-Term LNG Carrier Charter Agreement

GAIL (India), a Maharatna Public Sector Undertaking, has entered into a long-term charter party agreement with Alpha Gas, a leading Greek shipping major, for the LNG carrier “Energy Fidelity.” The agreement was signed between GAIL and Pantheon Maritime Services Private Limited, an affiliate of Alpha Gas based in Singapore.

The agreement was formalized by Shri S Bairagi, Executive Director (Mktg. - Shipping & International LNG) of GAIL, and Ms. Anna Angelicoussis, Owner of Alpha Gas, at the Alpha Gas headquarters in Athens.

The “Energy Fidelity,” with a cargo capacity of 174,000 cubic meters, is equipped with a state-of-the-art two-stroke propulsion system, advanced air lubrication technology, and shaft generators. These features significantly enhance fuel efficiency and reduce emissions. This milestone agreement aligns with GAIL’s commitment to the ‘Maritime Amrit Kaal Vision 2047’ and strengthens India’s maritime infrastructure and energy supply chain capabilities.
