Oil India Limited (OIL), a Maharatna central public sector enterprise under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, signed a memorandum of understanding with the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) on 15 June 2026 at OIL House in Noida. The agreement was executed by the chairman and managing director of OIL and the director general of CSIR in the presence of the managing director of Numaligarh Refinery Limited, other directors of OIL and senior officials from both organisations.

The MoU seeks to foster collaborative research, innovation and technology development across the energy sector with an emphasis on upstream and downstream oil and gas operations.
