AAI goes renewable with 14 airports

The Airport Authority of India has given priority to carbon neutrality and net zero carbon emissions. The statutory body has been putting in solar plants at its airports as part of its efforts to do this.

14 airports operated by the AAI currently use only renewable energy. Tezu Airport, Kangra Airport, Kullu Airport, Shimla Airport, Jammu Airport, Srinagar Airport, Leh Airport, and Imphal Airport all use renewable energy to power their operations.

Along with the others listed, there are airports in Dimapur, Puducherry, Pakyong, Kanpur, Dehradun, and Patna. AAI is in charge of constructing, enhancing, maintaining, and managing aviation at 125 airports.
