Axis Energy has partnered with Lumara, a renewable energy platform launched by Brookfield in India, to develop a 400 megawatt (MW) utility scale solar project at Nandipadu village in Nandyal district, Andhra Pradesh. Axis Energy will lead the development, engineering, procurement and construction of the solar facility and will execute complete EPC works for the plant. The scope also includes construction of a 400 kilovolt (kV) pooling substation (PSS) and an associated 400 kV transmission line.\n\nThe transmission infrastructure will link the project to the Kurnool III CTUIL substation, enabling evacuation of power generated at the site to the national grid. The project is expected to create employment opportunities for local communities during both construction and operational phases, supporting economic activity in the surrounding region. Commissioning is targeted in calendar year 2027.\n\nThe partnership is designed to strengthen Axis Energy's role in utility scale renewable energy development while supporting expansion of solar generation and associated transmission infrastructure in Andhra Pradesh. Lumara, backed by Brookfield, will bring investment and platform level capabilities to the project and Axis Energy will deliver execution and on ground delivery. The arrangement is likely to mobilise local supply chains and contractors for civil, electrical and grid integration works.\n\nProject delivery will require coordination with central transmission authorities and local administrations to secure clearances and grid connectivity agreements and to manage land and logistics during construction. The facility, once commissioned, is expected to contribute to regional renewable capacity and to support broader decarbonisation objectives by displacing fossil fuel generation. Stakeholders will remain focused on meeting technical and regulatory milestones to achieve grid synchronisation.\n\nThe development reflects growing investor interest in utility scale solar in India and demonstrates the continuing expansion of private sector participation in transmission and generation projects. Project timelines and employment projections will evolve as construction progresses.
