Azimuth AI And Cyient Launch India’s First Intelligent-Power Chip

Azimuth AI, a next-generation embedded-silicon company, and Cyient Semiconductors, a leader in custom ASIC turnkey and intelligent-power solutions, have jointly launched ARKA GKT-1, India’s first intelligent-power platform-on-a-chip designed for high-efficiency edge AI and smart-energy applications.

The chip was unveiled by Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, Hon’ble Union Minister for Electronics and IT, marking a major step in India’s journey towards self-reliance and global leadership in semiconductor design and deep-tech innovation.

Developed through a collaboration between Azimuth AI and Cyient Semiconductors, ARKA GKT-1 integrates multicore custom compute, advanced analogue sensing, memory, and intelligent-power management into a single, highly energy-efficient SoC. Targeted at smart utilities, advanced metering, battery-management systems, smart cities, and industrial automation, the chip enables real-time edge intelligence while maintaining exceptionally low power consumption.

This first-generation platform is built on Azimuth AI’s Software-Defined Silicon architecture and powered by Cyient Semiconductors’ expertise in mixed-signal design, power engineering, and low-energy ASIC development. Together, they deliver a flexible, future-ready silicon foundation for domestic and international markets.

Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw said the ARKA GKT-1 demonstrates India’s capability to design and develop world-class semiconductor technologies for critical global industries. He added that the milestone reflects India’s accelerating progress towards self-reliance, advanced manufacturing, and leadership in next-generation chip innovation.

Krishna Bodanapu, Executive Vice-Chairman and Managing Director of Cyient Semiconductors, noted that ARKA GKT-1 marks a defining leap in India’s semiconductor journey. He highlighted that the integration of Cyient’s silicon-engineering strengths with Azimuth AI’s architecture has produced a globally competitive, energy-efficient chip for demanding edge-AI applications. He added that the programme exemplifies a full custom ASIC turnkey solution, covering design, fabrication, OSAT management, and final chip delivery, aligned with the India Semiconductor Mission.

Praveen Yasarapu, Founder and CEO of Azimuth AI, said ARKA GKT-1 fulfils the company’s vision to bring intelligent, low-power silicon to the edge. The platform, he noted, addresses high-growth markets including smart utilities, energy management, battery systems, and industrial intelligence, and sets the stage for large-scale deployment and commercialisation
