Gujarat Unveils Online Portal for Data-Driven Power Planning

Gujarat Energy Minister Rushikeshbhai Patel has launched Urja Samvardhanam, a new web portal designed to centralise data from power generation to consumer-level usage. The system is expected to support long-term planning and policy formulation by providing real-time insights into electricity demand and consumption patterns.

Patel said the portal integrates information from all substations and sub-divisions across the state, offering detailed consumption data, including time-specific usage by area. Consumers will also be able to view service-related information such as line trip timings, outage duration and restoration updates.

The Minister noted that data-backed forecasting will strengthen energy conservation efforts and help authorities plan future infrastructure, including new substations and power lines. In the next phase, power generation data will also be added to enable better integration of new and renewable energy sources, enhancing the state’s distribution network.
