The 720 MW Mangdechhu Hydroelectric Power Project, funded by India, has been handed over to Bhutan's Druk Green Power Corporation (DGPC). With the project's completion, India and Bhutan have completed four mega hydroelectric power projects. In 2019, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Bhutanese counterpart Lotay Tshering jointly inaugurated the 720 MW Mangdechhu Hydroelectric Power Project.
