Indian Navy To Stage Grand Op Demo 2025 In Thiruvananthapuram

The Navy has been taking its Navy Day celebrations beyond major naval bases, following successful editions in Puri (Odisha) and Sindhudurg (Maharashtra). Op Demo 2025 will continue this effort, offering the public a first-hand view of the Navy’s operational capabilities.

The demonstration will feature an impressive display of maritime power, with participation from warships, naval aircraft and a submarine. High-speed manoeuvres by Hawks and fighter jets, combat free-fall jumps, slithering operations showcasing land–sea synergy and live firings by warships will form the core highlights. The evening programme will include performances by the Southern Naval Command band, a beating retreat ceremony, a continuity drill and a hornpipe dance by the Sea Cadet Corps, culminating in a fireworks display.

The event aims to highlight the Navy’s role as a Combat Ready, Cohesive, Aatmanirbhar force safeguarding India’s maritime interests. It will showcase indigenous, state-of-the-art platforms symbolising Aatmanirbhar Bharat, and reflect the Navy’s operational preparedness and deterrent posture, demonstrated most recently during Operation Sindoor. As a central pillar of India’s maritime vision MAHASAGAR (Mutual and Holistic Advancement for Security and Growth Across Regions), the Navy continues to serve as the preferred security partner in the Indian Ocean Region, ensuring safe sea lanes and the security of maritime commons.

Op Demo 2025 will be livestreamed on Indian Navy social media channels and broadcast live on Doordarshan. Preparations and rehearsals are currently under way in full swing.

The Indian Navy will celebrate Navy Day 2025 with a large-scale Operational Demonstration (Op Demo 2025) off Shangumugham Beach, Thiruvananthapuram, on 3 December 2025. The President of India and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Droupadi Murmu, will attend as Chief Guest. Pune Division to Remove All Diamond Crossings by Year-End
