Jharkhand CM approves first hydrogen fuel industry

The nation's first hydrogen fuel-related industry is set to be established in Jamshedpur, as Hemant Soren, Chief Minister, Jharkhand, approved the project, according to an official statement. The investment for this venture will exceed Rs 3.50 billion.

The proposed unit's capacity will include over 4000 Hydrogen IC Engine/Fuel Agnostic Engine and 10,000+ Battery systems, with an investment of Rs 3.54 billion.

The statement mentioned that this initiative is expected to create employment opportunities for more than 310 individuals, both directly and indirectly.

Hemant Soren declared that the Hydrogen Internal Combustion Engine and Fuel-agnostic Engine will be developed in Jamshedpur, East Singhbhum, under the company TCPL Green Energy Solutions (TGESPL). This company is a joint venture between Tata Motors and Cummins Inc., USA.

Regarding the investment proposal, Soren consented to signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with TGESPL. This consent was given in anticipation of the approval from the Single Window Clearance Committee and High-Power Committee for the establishment of the unit for manufacturing and producing Advance Chemistry Battery, H2 Fuel Cell, and H2 Fuel delivery systems, as per the statement.
