MSEDCL Awards Solar Pump Orders Under PM-KUSUM Scheme

The Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) has awarded multiple contracts for off-grid solar pumps to Shakti Pumps and Oswal Pumps under the Magel Tyala Saur Krushi Pump Yojana, part of the PM-KUSUM B scheme.

Shakti Pumps said it has received a Letter of Empanelment from MSEDCL for the supply of 16,025 off-grid DC solar photovoltaic water pumping systems with capacities of 3 HP, 5 HP and 7.5 HP. The systems will be installed across Maharashtra to support cleaner and more sustainable agricultural practices.

Under the contract, Shakti Pumps will be responsible for the design, manufacturing, supply and installation of the solar pumping systems. The project value is estimated at Rs 4.08 billion, excluding GST. The company said the total value of the 16,025 pumps stands at around Rs 4.44 billion, inclusive of GST, and the order is to be executed within 60 days from the issuance of the work order or notice to proceed.

Separately, Karnal-based Oswal Pumps has received an order from MSEDCL for 13,738 off-grid solar pumps under the same scheme. The total value of Oswal Pumps’ contract is about Rs 3.80 billion, including GST.

Oswal Pumps said the systems will be installed at individual farmers’ sites across the state. The scope of work also includes repair, maintenance and remote monitoring system services for a period of five years, ensuring long-term operational reliability of the solar pumping infrastructure.
