Nextpower, Abunayyan Launch Saudi Solar JV

Nextpower and Abunayyan Holding have recently completed the incorporation of their joint venture, Nextpower Arabia, headquartered in Riyadh. The partnership aims to accelerate deployment of utility-scale solar power plants across the Middle East and North Africa, supporting national energy-transition goals and Net Zero targets.
Alongside the JV, the partners announced an advanced manufacturing facility in Jeddah to produce solar tracking systems, yield management and control solutions for large projects across the region. The 42,000 sq m facility, currently under construction, is expected to open in Q2 2026 and enable manufacturing and localised supply-chain capacity of up to 12 GW per year, supporting up to 2,000 jobs and adding around 600 employees.
Nextpower Arabia combines Abunayyan Holding’s regional infrastructure expertise with Nextpower’s global technology leadership, including over 150 GW of trackers operational or under fulfilment worldwide. The JV is positioned to support Saudi Arabia’s National Renewable Energy Program and the Kingdom’s industrialisation and export ambitions under Vision 2030, while helping lower clean-energy costs across the region.
The partners expect to fund the venture with about 88 million dollars (around 330 million Saudi Riyals) in equity and debt over the next two years to build out the facility and develop local engineering and technical capabilities.

Gujarat Pushes Biogas Growth With 193 Operational Units

Gujarat has operationalised 193 biogas plants across the state and is planning to add 60 more units as part of a broader push to scale up clean and sustainable energy solutions. The existing plants, established under various government-supported schemes, process organic waste including cattle dung and agricultural residue to produce biogas and a nutrient-rich slurry. The output is mainly used for cooking and other energy needs in rural and semi-urban communities, while also improving local waste management practices. The Gujarat Energy Development Agency (GEDA) is leading the initiative and is..
