NLC India Commissions Final Phase Of 300 MW Barsingsar Solar

NLC India Limited has commissioned the third and final phase of its 300 MW solar power project at Barsingsar in Rajasthan’s Bikaner district, completing a key renewable energy milestone for the state-owned Navratna enterprise.

In a regulatory filing with the National Stock Exchange and BSE Limited under Regulations 30 and 51 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015, the company said the final phase of the project, with a capacity of 141.17 MW, has been declared commercially operational with effect from January 24, 2026. The part commissioning certificate for this phase was issued by the Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation Limited on the same date.

The Barsingsar solar project was developed in three phases. The first phase, with a capacity of 52.83 MW, was commissioned on August 26, 2025, followed by the second phase of 106 MW, which began commercial operations on November 2, 2025. With the commissioning of the third phase, the full 300 MW project is now operational.

Following the completion of the Barsingsar project, NLC India Limited’s total installed renewable energy capacity has increased to 1,766 MW. The company’s overall installed power generation capacity now stands at 7,726 MW.

Commenting on the development, Prasanna Kumar Motupalli, Chairman and Managing Director of NLC India Limited, said the successful commissioning of the entire Barsingsar solar project marks a significant step in the company’s renewable energy journey. He noted that the project highlights strong execution capabilities, a commitment to clean energy and alignment with national priorities under the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy’s Central Public Sector Undertaking scheme. He added that the use of high-efficiency, domestically manufactured solar modules supports the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative while contributing to India’s transition towards a sustainable and resilient energy future.
