NREDCAP Awards 64.5 MWp Rooftop Solar Project

The New & Renewable Energy Development Corporation of Andhra Pradesh Ltd has awarded a letter of award to Sadbhav Futuretech Limited for the development of 64.5 MWp of grid-connected rooftop solar plants across Andhra Pradesh.

The project covers the design, engineering, supply, installation, testing, commissioning and five-year operation and maintenance of rooftop solar systems. It will benefit 32,249 Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe consumers under the PM-Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana through the utility-led aggregation model on a capital expenditure basis across APDISCOMs.

The initiative forms part of a larger state-wide programme to deploy 1,198.21 MWp of rooftop solar capacity for around 599,105 SC and ST beneficiaries in Andhra Pradesh. Officials said the programme aims to expand access to clean and affordable electricity while supporting inclusive energy transition goals.

NREDCAP said it followed a comprehensive bidding process, including tender notifications, e-tendering and CAPEX rate negotiations. Based on this process, the joint venture led by Sadbhav Futuretech emerged as the successful bidder. The project is expected to accelerate rooftop solar adoption and deliver long-term clean energy benefits to rural and underserved communities.

The scope of the awarded project includes detailed design and engineering of the 64.5 MWp rooftop solar plants, supply and installation of all equipment, testing and commissioning, and a five-year O&M period to ensure system performance, efficiency and reliability.
