The Central Electricity Regulatory Commission has issued a transmission license to Powergrid Khavda II-C Transmission, which operates as a wholly owned subsidiary of the Power Grid Corporation of India. The license is granted for the purpose of facilitating the evacuation of 4.5 GW of renewable energy from the Khavda polling station in Gujarat. This project falls under Phase-II, Part C, and will be executed on a build, own, and operate basis. The Commission emphasises that the evacuation of 4.5 GW of renewable energy, including Phases A to D, must be undertaken within a similar timeframe.
