Powerica Wins 100 MW Wind Project From SECI At Rs 3.85 Unit Tariff

Powerica Ltd has secured the winning bid for a 100 megawatt (MW) wind power project awarded by the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) following an e-reverse auction held on July 15, 2026. The company submitted a competitive offer in the tender for 2,000 MW of grid-connected wind projects and emerged as a winning bidder. The discovered tariff for the project was Rs 3.85 per unit.

The firm indicated that the Letter of Award (LOA) is expected to be issued within the timelines prescribed by the tender document and that it will enter into a power purchase agreement (PPA) with SECI thereafter. Powerica stated it will use its in-house engineering capabilities to execute and deliver the project within the tendered schedule. The company noted that the allocation forms part of a broader initiative to procure renewable energy capacity.

Last week Powerica also emerged as the winning bidder in an e-reverse auction conducted by Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd (GUVNL), securing a 50 megawatt (MW) allocation under a 250 MW grid-connected wind tender. The discovered tariff for that project was Rs 3.51 per unit, which represented a two point seven seven per cent variance from the tender start price. The company said it expects the Letter of Award for the Gujarat contract to be issued within the prescribed timelines and to enter into a direct power purchase agreement with GUVNL. Powerica plans to execute that project using its engineering team and to deliver the contracted capacity to support renewable purchase obligations.

Shares of Powerica closed at Rs 575.30 on the BSE, up Rs 8.80 or 1.55 per cent on the day, reflecting investor reaction to the contract wins. The company presented the wins as part of a strategy to expand its presence in wind power alongside other business lines. Market observers will watch the issuance of Letters of Award and subsequent PPAs to track project timelines and execution.
