Sri Lanka clears approvals for Adani Green Energy

Sri Lanka has granted a provisional approval to Adani Green Energy for an investment of over $500 million in two wind projects in the country, Sri Lanka's power and energy minister Kanchana Wijesekera has reportedly announced. The provisional approvals are for two wind projects located in the Mannar and Pooneryn, villages in the Northern province of Sri Lanka. The minister reportedly met with officials from the CEB and the Sustainable Development Authority to discuss the status of renewable energy projects. The wind projects’ total capacities are 286MW in Mannar and 234MW in Pooneryn.
