Twenty-two power transmission and distribution projects worth Rs.216 crore was recently inaugurated by Manoj Sinha, Jammu and Kashmir Lt Governor at Samba. Additional capacity augmentation will bridge the major gap in the electricity requirements of Jammu, Udhampur, Reasi, Poonch, Rajouri, Samba, Kathua and adjoining areas. The occasion was termed historic for the people of the Samba, as the district has now got a dedicated grid station after waiting for 15 years. The power infrastructure of J&K, which was dilapidated for the past several decades, is now being transformed at a faster pace with the inauguration of these projects.Contact: Government of Jammu and Kashmir.
