PA Mohamed Riyas, Public Works Minister, Thiruvananthapuram, said construction of roads in the state capital under the Smart City project will be completed in a time-bound manner by April. The work of improving the quality of various roads in the city is being completed on time. The minister who visited and evaluated the construction works of roads said 38 roads has been chosen for maintenance and revamp. Road works under the Smart City project were initially given to a separate agency but they were unable to complete the work on time, causing a huge crisis. So the state government intervened, the agency was removed and the contracts given to other agencies to expedite work.
