JK Tyre to release smart tyres for trucks that are sensor-based

Leading tyre manufacturer JK Tyre & Industries will soon introduce its line of intelligent truck tyres, which is expected to extend tyre life by at least 10% while also saving truckers some money.

Sensors

These intelligent tyres will be equipped with a sensor-based tyre pressure monitoring system that will allow for real-time smartphone application-based notifications for inflation and temperature breaches.

Smart tyres' built-in sensors will be able to recognise changes in temperature or pressure and, in response, send notifications to their app, which will be shown on a mobile device's screen.

Tyre burst is typically brought on by a shift in temperature or pressure. However, not just one tyre on the wheel would experience a tyre burst; both would. Therefore, the two tyres for that wheel will need to be replaced for roughly 50,000. It will significantly reduce the truckers' profits because it is such a large sum. These smart tyres with sensors will aid in the efficient upkeep of tyres.

Benefits

The greater fuel efficiency of these smart tyres also results in a little decrease in fuel costs, fewer breakdowns, and a real-time asset tracking system to avoid tyre thefts.

These tyres are currently being tested by a few fleets, and the company plans to introduce them at the start of the upcoming fiscal year.

These intelligent tyres for passenger cars have previously been introduced by the business. The business already possessed this technology for tubeless tyres. It has since developed a method that allows the sensors to function with tube tyres as well.
