AIDC inks LoI with Singapore company

A "Letter of Intent" for the development of urban infrastructure was signed by the Assam Industrial Development Corporation (AIDC) and the company Surbana Jurong, which has its headquarters in Singapore.

The "letter of intent" would give the "organic relationship" between Assam and Singapore new strength, according to Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.

Sarma emphasised the need for a masterplan to make Guwahati a world-class city and added that Surbana Jurong's experience in the development of urban infrastructure would be extremely helpful in achieving that goal.

Sarma also discussed the opportunity that Assam would present to industries around the world due to its prominence in the Act East Policy. He urged Surbana Jurong representatives to take full advantage of the chances provided by Assam's infrastructure and related industries.
