KONE inaugurates its new warehouse in Mumbai, India

KONE Elevator India, a fully-owned subsidiary of KONE Corporation, opens its new warehouse at Andheri in Mumbai. Housing more than 2000 different parts, the warehouse will serve more than 2500 current customers. In Mumbai, there is a presence of several prestigious high-rise residential and commercial buildings, with many upcoming projects. As a global leader in the elevator and escalator industry, KONE provides elevators, escalators and travelators, as well as solutions for maintenance and modernization to add value to buildings throughout their life cycle.

In line with this strategy to enhance customer experience with minimised down time of elevators and escalators, and for swift deliveries of spares, KONE inaugurates its new warehouse at Andheri Mumbai. The new warehouse at Andheri Marol Road will support elevators, escalators, travellators and Inno Track.

Commenting on the vision behind setting-up this warehouse, Amit Gossain, Managing Director, KONE Elevator India, said, “The new warehouse aligns with our strategy of True Service Mindset and ensuring speed of service to customer. Our new warehouse reaffirms our commitment to our customers in India. Efficient supply of spare parts across our existing service network is imperative to complement our plan to increase our sales touch points. India is urbanising at rates never seen before and as the need for housing grows, the need for vertical transportation and equipment will continue to grow just as rapidly.”

With the Indian government’s thrust on the development of smart cities and residential complexes, KONE feels the elevator and escalator market is significantly important. The consistent growth of India’s realty sector has been gaining attention worldwide and KONE is perfectly poised to support this market growth. The new warehouse and the significant investments made in the past couple of years are in sync with KONE’s strong commitment to India to deliver innovative and comprehensive solutions to its customers.

He further commented, “KONE has been widely recognised by its customers globally for excellent performance and service commitments. We will continue to provide world-class service and meet the growing demand of the Indian market as well. We will set up additional spare parts distribution centres in other locations in India in the coming months.”
