L&T Wins Major Order For Mumbai Housing Redevelopment

The Residential, Commercial Buildings and Factories business vertical of Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has secured a major order from a reputed client for a large-scale housing redevelopment project in Mumbai. The scope covers the design and construction of 26 high-rise residential towers, each rising to 120 metres, on a turnkey basis. The assignment includes structural works, architectural finishes and electromechanical services delivered under an integrated engineering, procurement and construction model.

To meet stringent delivery schedules L&T will deploy its large-wall panel precast construction technology, with building components manufactured in a state-of-the-art precast facility and assembled at the project site. The method will enhance quality, productivity and speed while reducing on-site congestion and schedule risk. The turnkey delivery model consolidates responsibility for engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning. The precast method reduces on-site labour intensity and supports predictable construction cycles.

The Residential, Commercial Buildings and Factories business vertical of L&T draws on extensive domain knowledge and proven expertise in delivering EPC solutions across residential buildings, commercial spaces and factories. The business has executed projects in sectors including automobiles, proving tracks, new energy facilities such as solar panel and battery storage plants, paint and chemical plants, glass plants and food processing units. Experience with complex industrial structures underpins its ability to manage large urban redevelopment programmes.

Larsen & Toubro is a US dollar 32 bn Indian multinational engaged in engineering, procurement and construction projects, hi-tech manufacturing, products and services across multiple geographies and domains. A focus on artificial intelligence and technology, a customer-focused approach and sustained quality controls have supported the company's market leadership for eight decades. The client engagement will follow agreed commercial and governance frameworks and move into detailed design and precast mobilisation in the coming months. Project governance will be managed through established internal controls and client oversight to ensure milestones are met.
