New app to expedite tax process

The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has chosen to use an app to streamline the process of reassessing property taxes.
The software would streamline the procedure, guarantee that assessment officers visit the property, eradicate human error, and speed up the entire reassessment exercise, according to Jainik Vakil, head of the Revenue Committee.
The GPS-based program, which is linked to Google Maps, will work on the ward assessment officer's registered mobile number and only let him make changes when he is physically present at the property's location. Senior officials will be able to upload photos and track exactly when an assessment officer visited a home.
The AMC anticipates using this program to finish the entire property tax reassessment procedure in 75-90 days.
