Kaynes Acquires August Electronics for Global Expansion

Kaynes Technology India Ltd, a leading Electronics System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) firm, has signed a share purchase agreement to acquire 100 per cent of August Electronics Inc., a Canadian EMS provider based in Calgary, Alberta. The transaction will be executed via Kaynes’ wholly owned step-down subsidiary, Kaynes Canada Ltd.

This strategic acquisition enhances Kaynes' North American presence and supports its global expansion plans by strengthening localised manufacturing, agile supply chains, and engineering expertise.

With over three decades of experience, August Electronics is known for its high-quality EMS services across high-tech, industrial automation, medical devices, and energy sectors. Its modern Calgary facility and strong client relationships in high-margin industries make the deal margin-accretive and value-enhancing for Kaynes.

Kaynes MD Ramesh Kannan stated, “The deal strengthens our manufacturing presence in North America and provides access to segments such as oil & gas, energy, telecom, and industrial instrumentation. By integrating August’s local strengths with Kaynes’ scale and Indian base, we offer a strong alternative to China-based sourcing.”

August Electronics will continue under its current leadership to ensure client and employee continuity. The transaction is expected to close by the end of May 2025, subject to regulatory approvals. NC Partners acted as exclusive financial advisor to Kaynes.
