Kothari Industrial Unveils Vision 2030 For Agri Tech And Manufacturing

Kothari Industrial Corporation (KICL) has unveiled Vision 2030, a roadmap positioning the group at the intersection of agriculture, technology, manufacturing and skill development. The plan focuses on precision agriculture, drones, geospatial intelligence and footwear manufacturing to create long-term value and employment. The chairman outlined strategic investments to build sustainable businesses that support farmers, customers, employees, shareholders and society.

KICL's Fertilisers and Agro division, operating since 1962, runs fertiliser blending facilities at Trichy, Vellore and Madurai and supports a dealer network across Tamil Nadu. The company supplies customised mixtures and a portfolio of speciality nutrients, bio-fertilisers, micronutrients and crop protection solutions to improve productivity. It is exploring supply partnerships with Qatar and Algeria to strengthen long-term security.

The group is developing a Farmer Identity Linked Precision Agriculture Platform to integrate farmer identity, landholding records, survey numbers, crop-wise cultivation databases and soil nutrient intelligence. The platform will include drone-based field services and precision recommendations to enable customised interventions at scale.

KICL's Drone and Geospatial division conducts large-scale surveys and infrastructure mapping for national and state agencies, and supports mining and quarry management projects with LiDAR and geospatial surveys. The company is expanding agricultural drone services for precision spraying and has established a Remote Pilot Training Organisation to develop a skilled workforce. It is pursuing DGCA type certification and evaluating indigenous drone manufacturing, multi-payload platforms and autonomous systems.

In footwear, KICL has formed a joint venture with Taiwan's Evervan Shoe Town Group and established two manufacturing facilities in Tamil Nadu, with Perambalur already producing for Crocs and Karur set to commence for Adidas in July 2026. The facilities will create a capacity of nearly 80 million pairs annually, generate employment and support exports, and the group holds a 30-year licence for the Kickers brand across nine countries.

KICL operates food services, facility management and logistics, running centralised kitchens and providing industrial and institutional catering while employing over 1,000 personnel. Vision 2030 aims to converge agriculture, artificial intelligence, geospatial technologies, drones, manufacturing and data analytics to deliver value to farmers and infrastructure agencies.
