Servotech Gains Patent For EV Charging Converter System

Servotech Renewable Power System shares rose 3.31 per cent to Rs 97.81 after the Indian Patent Office granted the company a patent for its innovation titled “System and Method for Charging an Electric Vehicle.”

The patented technology allows GBT-based electric vehicles to charge through CCS2 DC fast chargers. As India’s EV ecosystem rapidly transitions to the CCS2 standard, a large base of older GBT-compatible vehicles still operates across the country. Servotech’s device acts as a smart converter that, when connected to a CCS2 charger, enables GBT vehicles to charge safely and efficiently.

The company said the solution improves charger utilisation and ensures that legacy EV owners are not left behind during the shift to new charging standards.

Servotech added that the system has undergone successful trials on GB/T-enabled electric buses and commercial cab fleets. The firm is exploring large-scale deployment with fleet operators, public transport systems and commercial charging hubs.

Servotech Renewable Power System develops technology-driven EV charging solutions and offers a wide range of AC and DC chargers compatible with different electric vehicles for both commercial and domestic use.

On a consolidated basis, the company’s net profit declined 88.24 per cent to Rs 13.3 million, while net sales fell 46.67 per cent to Rs 1.06 billion in Q2 September 2025 compared with Q2 September 2024.
