ALIMCO Marks 53 Years with New Logo, EV Scooter and Wheelchair Tech

ALIMCO celebrated its 53rd Foundation Day with the unveiling of a refreshed corporate identity and the launch of next-generation mobility solutions designed to enhance independence for Divyangjan and senior citizens. The event, attended by Union Minister for Social Justice & Empowerment Dr Virendra Kumar and Minister of State B L. Verma, underscored the organisation’s expanding role in India’s inclusion and accessibility landscape.

Dr Virendra Kumar highlighted ALIMCO’s evolution from a manufacturing unit into a national institution rooted in innovation and empathy. He noted that more than 32 lakh persons with disabilities have benefited from government initiatives in recent years, with ALIMCO playing a key role in delivering high-quality assistive devices across the country.

Verma described the Foundation Day as a celebration of collective purpose, stating that the newly launched products are not just engineering achievements but life-changing tools that promote dignity and independence. Additional Secretary Manmeet Kaur Nanda offered an emotional tribute to the workforce, describing ALIMCO as an institution powered by human commitment. She shared inspiring stories of beneficiaries, including artist Sarita Trivedi and a BSF officer who overcame disability to triumph in para-sports, echoing his message: “Limbs are optional, but courage is compulsory.”

Nanda also outlined ALIMCO’s forward-looking strategy, including partnerships with over 80 start-ups, technology transfers, and development of AI-enabled and smart digital assistive solutions.

CMD Praveen Kumar introduced the new purple logo, symbolising inclusion and engineering excellence. He added that ALIMCO is now poised to meet emerging needs through EV mobility, advanced prosthetics and modern assistive devices.

The two new products—a stable, ergonomic 3-Wheeler EV Scooter and a Clip-on Motorised Wheelchair attachment—were presented along with their key features, reinforcing the organisation’s commitment to accessible and affordable mobility.
