Business Nextgen Finance Raises Rs 2,150 Million in Equity

Business Nextgen Finance has raised Rs 2,150 million (mn) in equity from a group of institutional and strategic investors to accelerate secured lending to micro, small and medium enterprises. The round was led by Beams Fintech Fund I and its affiliates, Baring Private Equity India Fund six, Saison Capital and UNLEASH first Investment Partnership, with additional participants. The company said the transaction received prior approval from the Reserve Bank of India.

Founded by Pankaj Poddar, the non-banking financial company received its Reserve Bank of India certificate of registration in September 2025 and has set out to build a technology-led lending platform for underserved and under-penetrated MSME markets. The firm provides secured credit facilities and intends to combine disciplined underwriting and digital capabilities to improve access to formal finance. The announcement described a focus on sustainable profitability and strong governance as core objectives.

The fresh capital will strengthen the company capital base and support plans to scale its secured lending business, expand geographic reach and deepen access to formal credit for India's MSME ecosystem. Beams Fintech Fund I and its affiliates are expected to hold more than 26 per cent of the paid-up equity share capital on a fully diluted basis following completion of the transaction. The investors were characterised as bringing expertise across financial services, fintech and growth capital.

The transaction does not result in any change to management or day-to-day control, the release stated, and the management intends to use funds to invest in technology and execution capabilities while pursuing long-term value creation. With institutional support the firm is positioned to accelerate its next phase of growth and emerge as a trusted financial partner for MSME entrepreneurs in underserved markets. Further information is available from the company website.
