Captain Polyplast Starts Production At Ahmedabad Plant

Captain Polyplast Limited has commenced production at a new manufacturing facility near Ahmedabad, Gujarat, marking an expansion of its micro?irrigation manufacturing footprint. The factory covers 70,000 sq. ft. within a land parcel of 330,000 sq. ft. and began operations following the planned timeline. The plant will produce driplines, sprinklers and HDPE pipes and brings critical component manufacture in?house as part of a backward integration strategy.

It complements existing plants in Rajkot and Kurnool and is expected to improve capacity utilisation and cost structures by reducing external sourcing. The facility will enable higher in?house assembly of components that were previously procured and support future capital expenditure on the available land. Management projects that the expanded capacity will strengthen the company’s ability to meet domestic and international demand.

The company has diversified into the solar EPC segment and maintains partnerships to broaden its product offering, including a polymer marketing tie?up with Indian Oil Corporation Limited in Gujarat. It operates a distribution network across 16 states and exports to Africa, Latin America and the Middle East. The new facility is part of a strategy to shift the sales mix towards commercial sales, PVC pipes and exports while supporting growth in solar water pumping and rooftop solar solutions.

In the financial year ending 2025 on a consolidated basis the company reported total income of Rs 2.8977 billion (bn), EBITDA of Rs 351.1 million (mn) and a net profit of Rs 313.2 million (mn). The management indicated the Ahmedabad plant will contribute to improved capacity utilisation and margin expansion over time and expects long?term value creation for shareholders. The commissioning adds manufacturing depth to support the micro?irrigation and renewable energy business and positions the company to capitalise on favourable policy tailwinds.
